Wheel Throwing: A Hands-On Clay Experience
Dive into the world of pottery with our two-part Wheel Throwing Class! Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this intimate, hands-on experience is the perfect way to explore the magic of the pottery wheel.
Part One: The Basics of Wheel Throwing
In your first session, you’ll learn the foundations of working with clay, including:
✔️ Selecting and wedging your clay
✔️ Centering on the wheel
✔️ Pulling walls and shaping your piece
✔️ Mastering the essential techniques to create your first pottery piece
Part Two: Trimming & Refining
A week later, you'll return to refine your piece, learning how to:
✔️ Re-center and trim your pottery
✔️ Add details and finishing touches for a polished look
After the bisque firing, the fun continues! Something unique! You’ll have the opportunity to paint your piece on your own time using our extensive selection of 120 vibrant glazes or for a small $5 charge learn how to use stoneware glazes. We’ll fire it one last time, transforming it into a fully functional, one-of-a-kind work of art.
With only one to a max of five students per class, you’ll receive personalized instruction and plenty of hands-on guidance.

We highly reccomend short fingernails and clothes you are comfortable getting messy in! Clay does wash out of clothing but there is a small chance of staining. Aprons are provided.
